Woman Wins $1 Million Lotto While Vacationing in Michigan

Best vacation EVER!

While in Michigan to visit some friends last month, a Canadian woman and her husband stopped at a BP gas station in Macomb to fuel up. She also decided to test her luck and bought a Mega Million ticket.

The woman told the Michigan Lottery that

The clerk explained the game to me and I bought five Easy Pick tickets."

And much to her surprise, she won the $1 million prize her first time playing the Mega Millions! The lucky woman came back to Michigan, from Ontario, on Monday to claim her money. The Detroit Free Press says she plans on paying bills and sharing some of the money with her family while saving the rest of it.

There are two things to take out of this story:

1. Play the lottery while on vacation
2. Be nice to your aunt.
