After beating the Houston Astros in the wild-card series, they were eventually eliminated from the postseason by the Cleveland Guardians.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch shared in a press conference on Friday that Matt Vierling will miss the start of the season due to a strained rotator cuff in his right shoulder.

Last season, he ended with a career-best 16 home runs and 57 RBIs in 144 games.
