USA Today has named Holland's Tulip Time and Mackinac Island's Lilac Festival among the 20 best flower festivals in the country. Readers can vote for their favorite through March 28.

The nominations are part of USA Today’s annual 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

Holland's 2016 Tulip Time festival runs May 7 - 14.

Holland's first Tulip Time event was held in 1929. The festival annually welcomes thousands of visitors and features hundreds of thousands of tulips.

This year's Mackinac Island Lilac Festival will run from June 3 - 12.

The Lilac Festival started in 1948 as a one-day event to honor the Island’s lilacs that were brought to Mackinac during the 1700 and 1800’s. The festival has blossomed to one of the largest events on the Island and ends with the Grand Parade, one of the longest running horse hitch parades in the world.

“We are flattered to be included in USA Today’s Best Flower Festival and appreciate those who take the time to vote” said Alison Abraham, Assistant Director of Mackinac Island Tourism.

Anyone may vote for their favorite once per day until noon on March 28.

The final results will be announced on Friday, April 1.
