Co-owners Mark Fellwock and Michael Brower had worked for more than two years on renovating it.
Ahead of its opening, MLive shared more about the distillery's décor, which included a wooden Brunswick bar built during the late 1800s, pincushion furniture, a restored fireplace, original tiled floors, a high wooden ceiling with painted beams, and exposed walls.
In additional to making spirits like vodka, bourbon, rum, and gin, the distillery served craft cocktails.
Menu items included wood-fired pizzas, pastas, salads, soups, burgers, and more.
In September of 2023, it was announced 18th Amendment Spirits Co. would be temporarily closing for renovations. The plan was to reopen as a full-service bar and restaurant.
Now, it does not appear that is happening.
The owners shared on August 14 that 18th Amendment Spirits Co. is up for sale.
They say,
This decision wasn’t made lightly and is not a reflection of our business performance. The truth is, owning and operating a restaurant while also working full-time jobs has been a rewarding but exhausting journey. We’ve loved every moment of serving this incredible community, but we feel that it’s time to pass the torch to someone who can dedicate the attention this place deserves.
While the distillery's Facebook page is still active, the link to their website no longer appears active. It's also listed as "Temporarily Closed" on Google.
The craft distillery and restaurant, which features a full kitchen and wood-fired pizza over is listed for sale for $1.3M. Furniture, fixtures, equipment, and distilling license are all included included in the asking price.
