New Tiki Bar for Boaters Opening up in West Michigan

A new spot to dock your boat and grab a bite and a drink is coming to Muskegon!

BLTiki to Open in Muskegon

Bear Lake Tavern is opening a new tiki bar later this month.

The bar and restaurant is located on Bear Lake Channel off of Bear Lake, about a ten minute boat ride from West Michigan.

The new addition is called BLTiki.

At the beginning of last month, Bear Lake Tavern shared an update on the project:

A local favorite, Bear Lake Tavern has been in operation for more than 100 years. Last year it was purchased by new owners who have decided to turn a sandy patch into the new tiki bar.

Guests will be able to dock their boats and then check in with a host right there to be seated. Guests can also order food to go.

Owner Emily tells Fox 17,

This place has always been a gathering place for the community... being able to utilize this space for a bigger area to serve more people, people who are already here and waiting for two hours instead can enjoy this patio, get food, get dinner. The menu is totally different than what's in the regular BLT. So you can either have a different experience out here or grab an appetizer and wait to get your margaritas and perch inside.

While the new BLTiki's menu has yet to be revealed, they have shared a few items that may appear on it, like a selection of fried chicken sandwiches.

Here's what you can get at the original Bear Lake Tavern:

There's a different soup each day, like Lobster Bisque, and salads such as Strawberry Salad and Tomato Caprese.

Appetizers include nachos, wings, popcorn, onion rings, fried calamari, tater tots and more.

For sandwiches you'll find chicken, steak, Grouper, Walleye, and burgers.

Entrees include steak, Perch, Walleye, Grouper, Salmon, and Tuna.

Bear Lake Tavern has a full bar, serving up beer, wine, and cocktails.

BLTiki will officially open to the public May 26, 2023.
