Popular British Influencers React To Seeing Great Lakes For First Time
I have many friends who live along the coastline of both the Atlantic and Pacific, and when I tell them I'm going to the beach, I'm always met with virtual eyerolls and declarations that "It's a lake, it's not big deal," to which I return the eyeroll with a "you have no idea what you're talking about, it's a GREAT lake."

It was incredibly rewarding when I finally had them come see Lake Michigan for themselves, and they were in awe. So when British influencers Josh and Jase announced they're making a surprise trip around Michigan, starting in South Haven, it was met with much fanfare. They've been loving their trip so far, and the community has been beyond excited to run into them around town.
But the real cherry on top of this visit is seeing the Brits react to the vastness of Lake Michigan. Before we explore their reaction, let's get to know the British influencers.
Who Are Josh & Jase?
Josh and Jase are an influencer duo hailing from Nottingham, England, who go on adventures together around America. Their humorous reactions to American life and landmarks have garnered them over 1.5 million followers on TikTok, 750K on Instagram, and 250 K on YouTube. while their individual channels have 2 million (The Accent Guy) and 5 million (imjoshfromengland2).
The two tend to showcase local businesses and are practically walking advertisements for whichever region they show up in, to the point that Louisiana has made them official state ambassadors. So with Josh and Jase now documenting their entire trip around the Mitten State, it's exciting to see what they'll spotlight next.
The Great Lakes + Freezing Cold
The duo arrived in South Haven two days ago, and already, tons of Michiganders are taking photos with them, welcoming them to the area.
But it's Josh and Jase's reactions to seeing Lake Michigan for the first time that are bringing smiles to many Michiganders' faces.
My personal favorite part is their shock at seeing seagulls, even referring to the birds as "lakegulls". It looks like South Haven is only the first of many stops, with the guys already in Saugatuck.
If you want to keep up with where they're headed next, keep an eye on their social accounts listed above.
