Farmer’s Almanac Ends 208-Year Run With One Last Winter Forecast for Michigan
For over 200 years, two farmer almanacs have been published each year: The Farmer's Almanac and The OLD Farmer's Almanac. Both have been making predictions about the upcoming season's weather, astronomy, gardening, and more.
But sadly, the Farmer's Almanac has announced that after 208 years, this will be its final issue. It's a remarkable run for any single publication, and I imagine the almanac wants to go out on top. So, what does the final issue predict for Michigan's winter season?
Michigan's Winter Prediction
We've already seen some early snow this November, and if the Farmer's Almanac (FA) is to be believed, this isn't a fluke. The FA has deemed this winter "Chill, Snow, Repeat" because they are predicting a frigid and snowy winter, not just in Michigan, but around most of the country.
The cold will stick around, but it is also predicting a "significant cold snap" in mid-January and another in mid-February. By all accounts, we are set for a winter weather wonderland. As always, the weather can change in a moment, and long-range weather forecasting can be considered glorified guessing.

How did the Almanac do last year?
Last year, West Michigan experienced a particularly snowy start in November, followed by a warmer December. January, on the other hand, saw 27 or 31 days with snowfall, and this continued into February when we saw below-zero temperatures in mid-February. That's where the snow ended, and the rest of winter was warm.
The Farmer's Almanac accurately predicted the cold weather throughout the winter, notably forecasting the mid-January winter storm. Can they end things a secret straight year of success?

The final issue of the Farmer's Almanac will be available for purchase until December 1st, when the website will be taken offline.
