Weather and temperature can affect the life of AAA, AA, D, and C batteries and the same goes for vehicle batteries putting Michigan in the battery life golden zone.

Some batteries are better than others which is why the prices are drastically different. Depending on the device the cheaper batteries will work just as well when it's a TV remote or something that does not take much power to run.

Warmer temperatures can increase battery capacity but decrease its lifespan. Lower temperatures can decrease battery capacity, but increase its lifespan. Batteries that are not used often are at a higher risk of being affected by temperature.

There is a myth that batteries stored in the refrigerator last longer in fact, doing so can damage them. Condensation, extreme cold, and moisture can all cause damage or reduce battery life and that is why should not store them in the fridge. Are these the same rules for vehicle batteries?

Non-electric vehicle batters are built to typically last 3 to 5 years but just like an electric vehicle battery, maintenance, climate, and use can play a big factor in life expectancy.

Poster "FishtillIdie" posted a graphic for car battery life expectancy on Reddit after his girlfriend's car battery died in Florida after only having the vehicle for 38 months. You can see from the graphic that Michigan falls into the longer life zone than warmer states. This graphic mainly caters to traditional vehicle batters but electric vehicle batteries are also affected by extreme cold as you see in Alaska. So Michigan is in the sweet spot for electric vehicle owners as well as non-electric vehicles.
