Few people can say they've never seen CBS's long-running reality competition series Survivor. It's been on the air since 2000, and when it hit the airwaves, it was a massive pop-culture phenomenon. It has remained a mainstay on television ever since, now with fans who grew up watching it participating in the game as well.

But the show has seen a huge resurgence since the COVID-19 pandemic, and its popularity for its "New Era" is spiking at the perfect time: the 25th anniversary/50th seasonThis anniversary season is being heavily influenced by the fans, fittingly called Survivor 50: In The Hands of the Fans, with CBS having fans voting on various aspects of the game like whether to give tribes rice or have a mid-season tribe swap.

With the show looking their its entire history for contestants this season, we're looking back at the contestants that have gone around the world that call Michigan home. Nine contestants have come from the state of Michigan over the years, with Michiganders accomplishing lots of show firsts and one Sole Survivor. 

The 50th season will premiere on February 25th on CBS.
