The northern Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula typically see heavy snowfall each winter, while the southern half of the state has managed relatively mild conditions in recent years. The winter of 2026, however, feels like a throwback to the winters West Michigan used to know, and people are feeling its impact in more ways than one.

It’s only mid-January, and Michiganders are already feeling the winter blues. Rising heating bills, constant snow removal from sidewalks and driveways, scraping ice off car windows, and treacherous road conditions are taking their toll.

It feels like there should be a song about the winter blues, and luckily, TikTok delivered. Someone created a parody that’s painfully relatable, complete with a video that perfectly captures all our seasonal frustrations.

A guy on TikTok with the handle Rolling Blue, put together a parody song all Michiganders can relate to. Not sure if he did this while being snowed in, but he captured what we are all going through.
