If You’ve Never Done This Michigan Drive, Fix That ASAP
Michigan is known for its natural beauty, much of which is due to the state's over 53% forest cover and over 10,000 inland lakes. Driving through any part of the state can be a beautiful trip, especially along the lakeshores. But there is one trip here in Michigan that has been deemed the "most scenic drive" in the state, a title that isn't easy to get.

Michigan's Upper Peninsula, especially, has some of the best views in the state, and that's where this incredible strip of road is located. Let's get acquainted with Copper Harbor and the Brockway Mountain Trail.
"The Most Scenic Drive In Michigan"
The Brockway Mountain Drive is a 9.5-mile thin stretch of paved road just off M-26 on the Keweenaw Peninsula that brings ambitious travelers up 1,320 feet above sea level. The view from the peak of the drive is unmatched, providing a view of everything around you. Lake Superior, the trees (especially in the fall), and if conditions are clear, you can even see Isle Royale in the distance.

The road is the highest paved road east of the Rocky Mountains. It is a particularly popular spot in the birding community during Migration season in the spring, but it is also a great spot for stargazing, too!
While the best way to reach the peak of Brockway Mountain is by car, there are hiking and biking routes also available. This is a trip you need to make if you find yourself in the UP. Just make sure to bring binoculars and a jacket because it can get chilly up there. Find some more hidden gems in the Upper Peninsula below.
