If you have even seen the TV show, Hoarders, you know some people throw nothing away. One Michigan home may be the number 1 hoarder in the state.

What is Hoarding?

Yes, the people who bought up all the toilet paper from stores when the pandemic first began were hoarding but that is not the type of hoarding I'm talking about.

I'm talking about people who still have everything they have ever owned and throw nothing away.

I bought an old dairy farm 5 years ago and on the property, I found every TV the previous owners had ever since the invention of television. I found every tire the family ever bought dating back to when Studebakers were being built. Some people never throw anything away inside and outside of their homes. Not good for the property values of other homes in the area not to mention rats, mice, and possible diseases that can come from too much rotting garbage.

A woman in Center Line Michigan may be the state's number one hoarder. The entire yard is covered in garbage. A truck in the driveway is buried in garbage. Who knows what the inside of this home is like but from the looks of the outside not sure I would want to venture inside.

According to WXYZ, Debbie Stieber neighbor of the woman hoarding all the trash around her home said, "Garbage is coming from everywhere and anywhere. It's just been horrendous. Not only for the safety of them, it's the safety for the neighbors, the kids, the pets."

Another neighbor Joe Nevill said, "She pulls up multiple times of day unloading her van and every time she pulls up the van's already full each time." So this means it is not just the woman throwing out her trash, she is driving around and collecting the garbage from other places and then putting it in her yard.

Several complaints have been made and soon a court date will decide if the City of Center Line will get a court order to clean the woman's property. The homeowner declined to be interviewed and said "She's sorry to her neighbors and she's working on the issue." See more of the home and hear from their neighbors here.

It's Illegal To Throw These Items In The Garbage In Michigan

I went right to the source at Michigan's state website to find out if I can throw regular household batteries away in the garbage, among other items. It turns out there's quite a bit of illegal things to throw away which may not impact all of us, but may come in handy for certain business owners, as they point out
