Dad jokes...dad advice? What could be better? For instance,

I just built an ATM that only gives out coins. I don’t know why no one’s thought of it before: it just makes cents!

DAD JOKE!

Leave room between yourself and other cars. More room. EVEN MORE than that. A little more. Perfect.

Actually, the joke isn't THAT bad, just sort of. But the advice lands perfectly.

I'm guessing that the more grounded life here in the Midwest is, midwestern dads are more apt to help guide their children into adulthood and especially driving as they grow up and get behind the wheel.

Since we're in the throes of a massive winter, knowing how to drive in snow is key to their safety and your sanity!

So, what do you think? Here are some reddit/grandrapids thoughts from dads:

"You will be fine and you can still go places if you remember the following:

-accelerate slowlllyyyy
-brake lightly and intermittently, NOT heavily and constantly
-Go as slow as you need to. The people flying by you will probably be in a ditch five miles down the road and you will not.
-Turn your headlights on if it's snowing and follow the tracks of others as best you can.
-Just like Lake Michigan - don't be scared of the snow, but respect it."

Have you ever offered any snow driving advice to your kids, dad? You should. And, take them out to practice in, possibly, an open parking lot to really get the feel of it. Remember, you probably did that when they were beginning to drive, so now it's snow driving time!

Also, charyou, from the reddit/grandrapids thread also wrote some final thoughts:

"FULL TANK OF GAS.

and call your mother once in awhile! she’s worried sick about you. and she won’t be around forever.

and I know I never say it, but I’m proud of you."
