Talk about a heart-warming story, this is one of them.

How many times have we all seen deer, hit by a car or truck, in or on the side of the road. It happens so much in Michigan, and we are so used to it, that we just drive right on by.

Well, this time a good hearted and concerned motorist didn't just pass by a doe who had been hit by a car. He/she, called the police to report it.

It happened near the Meijer store on Highland in Oakland County, and White Lake Township Police officer, Frank Wright responded, according to their Facebook page.

Guess what? The Doe was pregnant and was about to give birth. Now what?

No problem for office Wright. He leapt into action and birthed the fawn as sadly, the mother doe died.

I'm just asking here, but where in police training is there a course in birthing deer?

Officer Wright didn't care. He was quick to get it breathing, warmed it up with a blanket, and took it back to the police station.

They made a make shift bed, kept it warm, and fed it milk.

As they were caring for their new addition to the force, they felt they had to pick a name, so a vote was taken, and.....they named it "Little Baby Meijer!"

Why not! After all, the fawn was born near a Meijer store.

By the way, the fawn will have a happy life after recovering at a wildlife rehabilitation center.
