Downtown Grand Rapids Full of Runners and More This Saturday
Be very, very careful and watch out for pedestrians, walkers, runners, handcyclers, and wheelchairs, in downtown Grand Rapids this weekend!
It's the 48th Annual Amway River Bank Run tomorrow, Saturday, May 10, presented by Fifth/Third Bank and Corewell Health, and there will be more that 10,000 participants all over the streets of Grand Rapids.
Couple that with all the entertainment happening just this weekend, it's going to be crazy.
Country music star Kane Brown is at the arena tonight and tomorrow night, the Grand Rapids Symphony has concerts both tonight and Saturday night at De Vos Performance Hall, and Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass will be at the performance hall Sunday night, and so much more.
The point is, parking, and travel through city streets is going to be somewhat rough so you need to plan ahead.
Many streets will be closed downtown, in and out of the city, because of the River Bank Run. They won't be closed all weekend but between this afternoon, Friday, May 9 through early Saturday afternoon, many will be, so watch out and be prepared to circle around to find your way.

We have a lot to be proud of in Grand Rapids and West Michigan as the Amway River Bank Run is consistently ranked as one of the premier road racing events in the United States.
Also, it is the site of the USA 25 km Open Championships, and has been since 1995.
