Who Needs ‘Hard Knocks’? Detroit Lions Debut Off-Season Behind-the-Scenes Series
Many NFL fans looked forward to the off-season Hard Knocks series that ran for many years on HBO. Many NFL teams avoided the series at all costs not wanting either the distraction of a television show during their training camp nor any insight that could be gleaned by future opponents.
The Detroit Lions have taken the concept of a Hard Knocks style show in house with the debut of a new series called Inside the Den.

The show, which is being released on the Lions YouTube channel promises to offer a look into the off season machinations of the team.
A benefit to having a series like this being produced in-house is, of course, control of the narrative. The series producers, almost certainly the team's media department can choose to show as much or as little as they wish.
That's not to say it will all be glowingly positive. Episode One, which was release on March 11, opens with Dan Miller's radio call of the NFC Divisional round game loss to the Washington Commanders.
The series opens with Lions head coach Dan Campbell discussing the new defense and offensive coordinators - the biggest off season story for the team as both of their coordinators were snatched up by other teams as head coaches.
Check out the debut episode.
As the NFL calendar truly does run year-round, it likely we'll new new installments around the NFL Draft as well as mini camps and into training camp season.
