Michigan is About To Get Some Goofy Looking Mail Trucks
Postal workers have some of the most important jobs in the country and can connect us to our loved ones through their hard work. Recently it was announced that there would be a new fleet of mail trucks that are going to be issued out to start replacing all of the old ones hopefully. But it is the look of these that has the snickering, while mail carriers are quite excited about the new additions.
How do they look exactly? Remember when you were a kid and somebody told you to draw a car? That’s pretty much how this thing looks a massive driver's seat area and a super thin and long area for the engine. It looks like the cars we used to draw with crayons. These things will become a regular site in Michigan sooner than you think.
As silly as they may look, mail carriers like Richard Burton are excited about the new truck because it's a lot more roomy, as he told the Associated Press in the video below:
This is, you got so much head space now and all your switches right here. Everything like, they thought of everything with these trucks. You can actually stand up in the truck. You don't have to bend over in like the older trucks. You can actually stand up even if you're 6-4, you can stand up in these trucks and move around front and back.
The new trucks were released in Athens, GA, and according to Patrick Ecker, USPS, Exec. Mgr. of Fleet Strategy, these will be the first of many:
It's really going to be a five-year process to roll these out across the country. We're getting just under a hundred this year. Getting to the thousands next year and then we're going to get up to 20,000 vehicles a year we're going to see rolling out and deployed onto the routes.
What do you think of the new trucks?
