A huge survey of workers throughout Michigan has revealed the state's best employers, and seven of the state's Top 100 are colleges or universities.

Statista - in partnership with Forbes - surveyed more than 4 million employees nationwide, asking whether they'd recommend their employer to friends or family. Those surveyed are also asked their opinions of a selection of other employers in the same sector. Who's got the best reputation?

Only employers with 500 or more employees were considered.

Seven Michigan colleges and universities ended up placing among the state's Top 100 employers, according to Statista. Let's take a look at those seven, and where they rank among Michigan employers of all kinds.

7. Michigan Tech

6. Michigan State
