I've lived in Michigan my whole life, and I always love it when I can learn something new about the state. Like, the fact that there's a castle in Mid-Michigan.

I follow Lansing Area Littles on Instagram. Lansing Area Littles is a group that plans fun for little ones in the greater Lansing area by partnering with local businesses to organize and host playdates, events, and activities for Lansing area families. One of their recent posts clued my in on this not-so-secret castle nestled in Owosso, Michigan.
This is Curwood Castle in Owosso, Michigan.
Okay, so it's not a castle castle, but it certainly looks like one.
Curwood Castle was actually a writing studio for American author, and Owosso-native, James Oliver Curwood.

Curwood used this space to write many novels from when it was built in 1923 until he died in 1927. Now, you can visit, learn more about him and the history of the building. You can explore Curwood Castle Park too, don't miss out on the bridge!
If you'd like to take the kiddos, Curwood Castle is open to the public April 1st through December 31st from 1 to 5 pm, with tickets ranging from $2 to $5.
