Police Warn Parents: Dangerous TikTok Challenge Hits Michigan

Here we go again. Another TikTok challenge is making headlines. But this one’s not just dangerous. It’s both illegal and potentially deadly.

There have been several TikTok challenges that made headlines over the years, including the milk crate challenge, the blackout challenge, the Benadryl challenge, the fire challenge, the NyQuil chicken challenge, and yes, even the Tide Pod challenge. And now, Michigan police are warning parents about a new trend that’s causing chaos in neighborhoods and putting kids at serious risk.

This new challenge started popping up in different parts of the country, but now it’s found its way to Michigan.

Dangerous TikTok Challenge Hits Michigan

So, what is it this time? It’s called the “door-kicking challenge,” and yep, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Teens run up to someone’s front door, kick it as hard as they can, and then take off running while their friends record the whole thing for TikTok.

It's basically ding-dong ditch on steroids, except now there’s property damage, freaked-out homeowners, and potential criminal charges involved.

TikTok Challenge in Van Buren Township

According to Fox 2 Detroit, a video was submitted (see below) to police showing three young males walking down the sidewalk in Van Buren Township. One of them suddenly darts across the yard and allegedly kicks the front door of a home before taking off.

What makes this so dangerous is that these kids have no idea who they’re messing with on the other side of that door. One of these times, they’re going to kick the wrong door, and it’s going to cost them their lives.

It might sound dramatic, but it’s true.

Police are urging parents to talk to their kids about the dangers of this stupid TikTok challenge.
