To kick things off, the St. Patrick's Day parade is happening this Saturday, March 11th, starting at 11:00 AM.

The parade is coming back after a two-year hiatus because of COVID-19 cancellations and last year's freezing temperatures.

High school bands and Irish dancers will be performing. You will hear from Grand Rapids city departments and Aquinas College study abroad students from Tullycross, Ireland will be there as well!

If you want to bring the whole family, the parade will be starting in front of the Grand Rapids Public Library.

Don't forget to wear your green!

Irish On Ionia

If you miss the actual parade, there is another opportunity to celebrate the Irish holiday.

Returning after a 4-year hiatus, Michigan's largest St. Patty's Day street festival is back!

Irish on Ionia starts on March 18th at noon. It will be a sight to see with Irish bands and dancers. You can visit food trucks, and grab seasonal cocktails or Irish beers, all while being serenaded by Irish bagpipes or a DJ.

The full lineup is on Irish On Ionia's website.

What if I miss all of that?

No fret! Plenty of pubs and breweries will be celebrating the Irish holiday like Flanagan's Irish Pub, O'Toole's Public House, or Quinn & Tuite's Irish Pub.

However, if you want to get a little more festive, there are other celebrations happening in Grand Rapids.

You can grab a Boozy Shamrock at IDC in the Amway Grand Plaza on March 17th.
