As a mom of a 10-month-old, I've already got my hands full. Between trying to teach him how to eat and walk right now, it's always hard to find time to coupon or find the best deal on stuff that he needs. That's why I'm excited that this fall, Target's car seat trade-in program is back. It's a perfect opportunity to save some money while getting some new gear for your little one.

Michigan moms can trade in their old car seats at any participating Target store and receive a 20% off Target Circle™ Bonus toward a new car seat, car seat base, stroller, or select baby home gear.

Target accepts all types of car seats, including infant, convertible, booster seats, and car seat bases—even if they're expired or damaged. The trade-in process is simple: drop off your old car seat in the designated boxes near Guest Services, then scan the sign nearby with your mobile device to receive the 20% bonus in your Target Circle account.

This bonus can be used twice and is valid for both in-store and online purchases. The 20% off bonus can be applied to other baby gear, including playards, high chairs, bouncers, and more. (However, there are a few exclusions, such as Wonderfold, Doona products, items sold by Target Plus, and clearance items.)

One of the best parts about this program is knowing that your old car seat won’t end up in a landfill. Target partners with recyclers to turn the materials into new products like plastic buckets, steel beams, and carpet padding. Since the program began in 2016, over 3 million car seats have been recycled, making this not only a great way to save money but also a great way to save the planet!

The car seat trade-in event runs from September 15-28, 2024. Be sure to mark your calendar and take advantage of this fantastic offer before time runs out!
