That high pitched screaming you just heard coming from somewhere in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids? That was me upon reading that Netflix is developing a 10-episode live-action "Baby-Sitters Club" series.

Any woman who grew up between the late '80s and 2000 read at least one (if not DOZENS) of the books from the series by Ann M. Martin that followed the adventures of a group of five friends who were, like, SUPER into baby-sitting.

I grew up feeling like Kristy, Mary-Anne, Claudia, Stacey and Dawn were my best friends. And, in a way, they were. Those books consumed my life for HOURS. Every time I came across a new one, I had to have it. In fact, I'm pretty sure that all of the books are still in my parents' basement because I just can't bear the thought of giving my friends away.

According to a press release from Netflix, the series' original author, Ann M. Martin, will be involved in this new iteration as the producer of the 10-episode series.

It's unclear at this time when the series will be released, but I know that I'm not alone in saying that it can't come soon enough.

Want to re-read some of the books to jog your memory before the series comes out? There are tons of them available for relatively cheap on Ebay.
