Festival of the Arts is Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 5 in downtown Grand Rapids. Lavell Crawford has canceled his Gilda's LaughFest appearance for Wednesday night because of a movie he's currently filming, festival officials announced this morning. The cancellation of his appearance at Fountain Street Church is because of a change in the production schedule for the film "Meet the Blacks."

Gilda's LaughFest's 11-day festival of comedy rolls with comedy, fun, humor, zaniness and laughter across West Michigan at more than 40 venues in Grand Rapids, Ada, Lowell and Holland from March 5 to 15. We want to help you win tickets to some LaughFest performances.

John Ball Park was the venue and craft beers were the main course Saturday. The fourth annual Summer Craft Beer Festival poured, played, entertained and fed hundreds from across Grand Rapids, West Michigan and beyond on a summery afternoon and early evening with sunshine and temperatures creeping into the low 80s.

Festival weather has more than cooperated this weekend.  Both attendance and revenues are up for Festival 2011!  I spent a couple of hours pushing the double stroller around downtown on Saturday.  We saw some bands and ate some food, but my kids would tell you the highlight was the ICE CREAM...

Another sign of summer is less than two weeks away.  Festival of the Arts 2011 is June 3-4-5! I'll keep coming back for the food and music, but there's a whole lot more to 'Festival'.  Dance, storytelling, films, poetry, art, kid's activities, and more.
