The run for the roses is full of Kentucky pride, but this Michigander is giving us something to root for in Saturday's big race.

Members of the Kent County Sheriffs Department saddled up for a special reason to help with the Kentucky Derby this weekend

Everybody wants to own a piece of history, and for the most part, that's great! The line has to be drawn somewhere, and we might have found it.

We have a chance to Empty the Shelters, Tulips, the Kentucky Derby, Cinco de Mayo, a Farmer’s Market, a Mom’s Sale, a Shooting Competition, Free Comic Books and more! Get out and enjoy the first weekend in May.

You won’t run out of things to do this weekend! There is the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo on Saturday. There is also ice skating, tulips, walks, free comic books, naked gardening, free pet adoption, and a party for the Planet!

The Kentucky Derby may be the fastest two minutes in sports, but it takes two full weeks to celebrate the event in Louisville each year.  Unless you have an excess of vacation time and a whole lot of gas money to burn, a trip to Louisville may not be in the cards...
