Water Main

A 54-inch water main, almost a century old, ruptured early Monday, causing widespread flooding. Hundreds of homes and vehicles were damaged, and many residents and pets were left stranded.

A severe water main break transformed two entire blocks into what locals referred to as a "frozen river."

In the span of less than 24 hours two water mains broke on Grand Rapids Southeast side.
