A successful weekend for West Michigan high school football teams!

West Catholic High School has won three consecutive state championships under Head Coach Dan Rohn, but Rohn announced he is resigning his position to spend more time with his family.

All eyes are on the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. If you look closely you may find a familiar face on Notre Dame's bench. Father Pete McCormick, a Grand Rapids native, is Chaplain for the Notre Dame men's basketball team.

West Catholic beat Lansing Catholic 24-20 at Ford Field to win the Division 5 football state championship today.

This weekend, Michigan high school football teams and their supportive communities will travel to Ford Field in Detroit for eight championship games. We have the full schedule, plus all of the ticket, parking and other information you need to enjoy the games.

The 2012 Michigan High School Football season wrapped up on Saturday, with another West Michigan school taking home the championship trophy. Grand Rapids Christian won the Division 3 championship.  West Catholic was runner-up in Division 5.

West Michigan schools' successful run through the Michigan High School Football Playoffs continued in the semifinals over the weekend. West Michigan will have representatives in four of eight state championship games over Thanksgiving weekend!

Grand Rapids high schools West Catholic and Catholic Central are hosting a blood drive with Michigan Blood Bank on Tuesday, August 30.  The blood drive will also serve as a fund raiser.  For each person who donates or tries to donate blood, Michigan Blood Bank will donate $10 to help provide clean water in Haiti.

The West Catholic High School band had a memorable spring break.  They spent the week touring Rome and Florence, then on Wednesday they had the honor of playing at St. Peter's Square for the Pope and about 20,000 others!
