You Can Watch Carrie Fisher’s ‘Star Wars’ Audition Tape Right Here
It’s undeniable that Carrie Fisher was a rare talent — and she’d have to be, to charm the notoriously picky George Lucas with her Star Wars audition. In a recently resurfaced video, originally posted on YouTube in 2006, Fisher sits down to read a scene opposite Harrison Ford (whom Lucas initially didn’t want to cast, but he was so good in the screen tests that Ford became his Han Solo).
Get Your First Look at the Human Versions of the Castle Staff from ‘Beauty and the Beast’
Everyone knows how Beauty and the Beast starts off — a haughty prince refuses to give shelter to an old lady who turns out to be a fairy, who then curses him and his whole castle, turning him into a monster and his staff into inanimate objects. Well, the inanimate objects are still pretty animate, able to talk and dance and sing at poor Belle, who should be checking her food for hallucinogens rather than singing along, but who cares, this is a Disney movie. For those of you dying to see the rest of the castle’s inhabitants in their more flesh-and-blood forms, they’re human again in a new poster standee for the movie.
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Trailer Is Here, and Baby Groot Steals the Show, Obviously
We’ve done our waiting, and now it’s finally here — feast your eyes on the first official Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer! All of our favorites are back, plus a few new faces and one very big tentacle monster. This trailer keeps the rock music vibe of the first movie alive with their choice of Sweet’s “Fox on the Run,” and it looks just as fun, if not even more fun, than its predecessor.

You might’ve heard of him.

A New ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ TV Spot Shows Off Those Fantastic Beasts
Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) may be the main character of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but let’s be honest, the real reason we’re going to this movie is to see just how fantastic those titular beasts are. Last year, Warner Bros. revealed the names of a few of the creatures we’ll see, and recently we got a few quick looks at them in some of the new trailers, but a new TV spot has the most (and most fantastic) beast footage yet.

Cinemark Dropped Its Claim Against Aurora Shooting Victims
After the movie theater shooting in an Aurora, Colorado theater in 2012, a group of the victims got together to sue the theater chain Cinemark for not doing enough to prevent such an incident from occurring. They claimed that security flaws in the theater prevented employees from stopping someone carrying weapons onto the premises. This past May, a judge sided with Cinemark against the victims, claiming that the chain had no way of knowing about the shooter beforehand, and Cinemark was then legally able to recoup costs from the victims, which it fixed at $700,000. Now, the chain is finally dropping the claim, effectively ending the suit.

Eddie Redmayne has some big shoes to fill as the face of the next installment in the Harry Potter franchise. Could This Video Be Viral Marketing for ‘Blair Witch’?
The Blair Witch Project was such a success partly because of the film’s marketing-- even though we all know it’s not, a lot of it’s popularity came about because of the insistence that it was all real. Now it looks like the surprise sequel Blair Witch might be capitalizing on that phenomenon with a new viral marketing plan.
