Boil Water Order Issued For Some Residents In Kalamazoo
A water main break in Kalamazoo has led to some residents needing to boil their water before drinking it.
The affected area runs from Benjamin Ave to the North down to Winchell Ave to the south. It also extends from Tipperary Road to the west over to Oakland to the East.
According to WOODTV, a press release from the city stated that a water main broke along Winchell between Tipperary and Oakland which caused water pressure to drop, leading to the boil water order.
Residents are advised to boil their water for two minutes before drinking.
Officials have been running tests to see if there is any bacteria in the water and so far those test have not confirmed any contamination. They will continue to run tests and let the public know as soon as the boil water order has been lifted.
