Eeeeep! With tons of people in Grand Rapids for ArtPrize, we should be even more careful not to drive like jerks...

The thing is, when I saw this video posted to Reddit, my first thought was "I see people cut across traffic like this all the time!"

The video shows a white van cutting across 5 lanes of traffic from I-196 to get off at Pearl Street, nearly hitting a car.

The roadside assistance worker who caught the incident on dashcam and posted it to YouTube says there is a sign telling drivers not to do this exact thing if you're coming from that ramp. His suggestion is to go to the next available exit, rather than make a move like this.

What about you?

Do you think this video is rare, or a pretty common occurrence near downtown GR?
