I love to go to the movies, but sometimes you're looking for something to watch that hits a little closer to home. Sometimes, Hollywood just doesn't understand how to write a story about life in West Michigan, but these filmmakers do.

You'll want to join some of West Michigan's most creative for a unique gathering of independent, amateur, and freelance storytellers. They'll be capturing the raw, unfiltered human experience, without the Hollywood sheen.

The festival starts with a fantastic free networking event Friday September 29th at the Muse from 6-9 p.m. This is your chance to rub shoulders with some of West Michigan's best filmmakers and creative minds. On Saturday they'll be offering workshops on production and monster makeup and a chance to put your skills to the test in a 24-hour, from-scratch challenge. So, if you're up to the challenge, you could win a great prize.

Then Sunday the rest of us can enjoy the fruits of the labor of those participating by heading over to Studio Park, as well as enjoying all day screenings of other West Michigan based filmmakers.
