Grand Valley State University has topped a list of colleges with the worst weather.

The list put together by “Campus Explorer” ranked GVSU in the number one spot.

The article said,

The Great Lakes State isn’t so great when you’re trudging to class through a foot of snow. For winter sport enthusiasts, the west side of Michigan is a winter wonderland, but it’s certainly not for those of us who like to lounge in the sun in the middle of December.

Grand Valley’s campus is in Allendale, just outside of Grand Rapids. Besides being the second biggest city in Michigan, Grand Rapids is known for its unpredictable and chaotic weather patterns. With 72 inches of snowfall and only 64 clear-skied days per year, Michigan winters can be long and tough to endure.

Other colleges that made the list were State University of New York at Buffalo, Ilisagvik College in Barrow, Alaska (yes, our weather is worse than the weather in Alaska), and the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
