Science finally has figured out why you might hate the sound of your own voice.

When we talk without hearing ourselves recorded. We are hearing something completely different than the sound that is coming out. In our own head the sound is hitting a ton of our bones causing the sound to be much lower than what others are hearing.

This is why when we do hear a recording we don't like it. It is quite different from what we're expecting so we immediately are put off.

The study suggests recording and listen to yourself read a book or something like that to get more familiar with it.
