While in Grand Rapids this week, Governor Rick Snyder introduced the Health and Wellness plan.  One part of this plan is to give the DNR the power to make state beaches smoke free. The need to improve overall health and the desire keep our beaches clean were both cited as reasons to go smoke-free at Michigan owned and operated beaches.

The Michigan Education Association has officially joined efforts to recall many of the Michigan lawmakers who are supporting the new teacher tenure laws.

There are many arguments for and against helmet laws.  There are safety concerns.  There are liability concerns.  There are those who say that it is a bikers' right to choose.  Michigan's law currently requires all riders to wear a helmet, but that may be about to change.

In tonight's State Of The State address, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will ask us to provide our input on the state's future by taking an online survey at the state's website, michigan.gov.
