The Grand Rapids Hispanic Festival made its return to Downtown G.R. this past weekend. Live music and entertainment, booths to shop at, and lots of delicious authentic Hispanic food took over Calder Plaza for three days.

Unfortunately, as I write this, the festivities have already come to a close; but there's always next year. If you didn't have a chance to go this time around, or maybe you've never been, make it a point to go in the future. Each day provides musical guests to sing along or dance to, or just sit back in the stands and enjoy the show.

Stroll the different booths (aka "mercado") and do some shopping. I'm someone who loves to accessorize so when I found a booth with hair accessories and jewelry I knew I'd end up buying something... it's such a cute bracelet, how could I not? :-)

A beer tent is also there to keep things refreshing for attendees.

However, when it comes to the Hispanic Festival it's all about the FOOD, and there's a ton of it. I wish I had the room to eat one of everything cuz the options are endless and deciding what to eat is nearly impossible. So, I'm here to help you out or at least guide you in the right direction of food to eat when you're at the Grand Rapids Hispanic Festival, or at one of the many restaurants in the area.

The nonprofit organization, Hispanic Center of West Michigan, are the ones who organize the festival. Their mission is to help and empower the Hispanic community around the west side of the state. According to their website, they help 10,000 people on a yearly basis.
