A Monroe County Deputy Saved A Newborn Fawn’s Life

A Monroe County Sheriff Deputy is a lifesaver! If It weren't for his quick actions, this baby deer wouldn't have survived. Deputy Kevin Mercure was responding to a car-deer accident when he saw something rustling in the bushes.

Turns out it was a newborn fawn! This adorable fawn lost his mother in the car accident, but the quick actions of the officer likely saved the fawn's life. Mercure put him in a bin and took him to the Out-Back Wildlife Rehab Center.

The fawn is now recovering and isn't out of the woods, but things are looking promising since he's survived the first 24 hours at the rehab center. Once he grows up, he will be released into the wild. Shout out to Deputy Mercure for his actions!
