Accident Reports Increase In Grand Rapids By 55% During Week Of First Snow
It's the first heavy snowfall of the season and that means that people temporarily forget how to drive. Why is it that despite having snowy roads for pretty much 6 months, people forget how to drive in it each year?
The Grand Rapids Police Department issued a warning on their facebook page about the snowy weather. According to GRPD, accident reports increase by a whopping 55% during the first week of snowfall.
GRPD also provided some advice on how to avoid being one of the people who get into accidents in the snow:
- Slow your speeds
- Increase your distance from the vehicle in front of you
- Remove distractions
- Take your vitamins (we were just checking to see if you read all the way to the bottom, but it's sound advice anyway)
Yeah... About that 4th one, GRPD... IT'S HILARIOUS! OMG! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Not really.
