Due to President Biden's scheduled trip to the Pfizer plant in Kalamazoo, Air Force One will be making it's first landing in Kalamazoo at the Kalamazoo Battle Creek International Airport.

The President's plane is expected to land at 1:45pm according to a White House statement. The Federal Aviation Administration issued a temporary flight restriction from 1:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

President Biden is expected to be coming in on a 757 aircraft. There are 2 planes that are used for transporting the President. The 757 he'll be riding in is the smaller of the two planes. The other larger plane is a 747 aircraft. Which ever plane is currently in use by the President receives the moniker of "Air Force One.' "Air Force One" is the official air traffic control call sign for an aircraft carrying the President of the United States. The smaller 757 plane, used for this trip, is  typically used for shorter trips to airports with smaller runways.

The idea of designating specific military aircraft to transport the President arose in 1943, when officials of the United States Air Force became concerned about using commercial airlines for presidential travel. The "Air Force One" call sign was created in 1953.
