A harrowing story unfolded in Kalamazoo as a 13-year-old girl who was abducted from a bus stop managed to call 911 from her captor's home to alert police.

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the suspect was arrested by Kalamazoo Police after some quick thinking by the teen. The girl took advantage of someone coming into the house she was being held in, and distracting the man long enough for her to dial 911.

While she was unable to tell police where she was being held, they were able to hone in on her signal and find the house on Clinton Avenue in Kalamazoo Wednesday evening to make the arrest.

According to FOX 17, the girl was sexually assaulted before she could make the call, but her alertness may have prevented more harm.

The girl told police the man abducted her while she waited for a bus at a nearby bus stop. She told them she did not know the man who kidnapped her.

The suspect is in jail, awaiting arraignment on Sexual assault charges.
