If you remember, Adam Lambert was joined by original group members Brian May and Roger Taylor during his performance on American Idol's 2009 finale show. Then Queen and Lambert teamed up once more at the MTV European Music Awards in November. So now, Adam Lambert has confirmed he is set to join Queen as the band's new frontman for a tour with May and Taylor throughout 2012. Dates will include a show in Knebworth, England, where Queen played their final gig with Mercury in 1986.

Lambert says "The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some great songs. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of." Lambert assures most that he doesn't intend to take Mercury's place as he states, "There's no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That's impossible. The way I'm choosing to view it is that it's a great honor, Being asked to front Queen is the best thing that can possibly happen."
