A weathercaster for Detroit station WWJ-TV has been fired after going off script on the air and alleging 'discrimination against the station's owner, CBS.

During a Sunday night newscast the weathercaster, April Moss, took a break during her forecast to notify viewers she would be doing an interview with another media outlet. She said she would be exposing 'the discrimination that CBS is enforcing upon [sic] its employees'. While she didn't expound upon the discrimination in her report, she did later speak with far-right activist group Project Veritas and insinuated that CBS policies for masking and vaccinations were discriminatory.

You can see her interrupt her report in this video:

In response, CBS made a statement accusing Moss of simply being an anti-masker who objected to the stations following CDC guidelines:

April Moss objected to WWJ-TV's policies regarding Covid-19 testing and wearing masks inside our station, which are based on CDC, state and local guidelines. Any suggestion that she was in any way a victim of 'discrimination' due to her concerns about these policies is completely false.

In fact, we allowed April to perform her weather anchor duties from home as we explored her concerns. While we respect and support our employees' freedom to have their own opinions, they are not entitled to use our station news broadcasts as a platform for sharing personal views.

Moss is the second newscaster in as many weeks to bring up the right-wing media outlet during an otherwise ordinary report. Ivory Hecker, a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for Fox 26 in Houston was fired after she claimed she's been 'muzzled' by her employers during a June 14th report.
