Oh man, we really got to start getting our COVID-19 cases in check here in the U.S., which means we need to start wearing our masks because as of Wednesday the Bahamas are closing its borders to anyone trying to come in from the United States. The Bahamas! That’s where we all like to go on vacation when we can afford to travel outside of the country.

It’s even slightly more embarrassing because the Bahamian Prime Minister, Dr. Hubert Minnis, said in a National Address that they’ll still let in commercial flights and passengers from the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

Commercial sea vessels (cruise ships) are not allowed to dock on the island, no matter where they’re from.

All visitors Will have to have a negative COVID-19 test at least 10 days or earlier before going to the Bahamas or when you get there you have to quarantine for 14 days. I could think of worse places to be stuck.

Of course, there is a loophole, as they’ll still let private yachts and pleasure crafts, as well as private international and charter flights, come to the islands. Probably because they think if you’re rich enough, you’re not getting sick?

All I know is my driving force to get through this pandemic is when it's officially safe enough to travel, I'm ready to get myself out of this house in Grand Rapids Michigan for at least a solid week.
