Since the horrific shooting at an Aurora, Colorado movie theater last Friday, pleas have gone out that Batman himself visit the injured and the victims' families. Online campaigns in the form of facebook groups like Christian Bale, visit the children who were injured in Aurora shooting cropped up and individuals posted their own messages in status updates urging the caped crusader to head to Colorado to show "heroes can be real too, not just the bad guys" . On Tuesday, Christian Bale answered the call.

Fox 31 in Denver reports that Bale and his wife Sibi Blazic visited the memorial to honor the 12 people who died Friday morning at the Century 16 Movie Theater, where they participated in an impromptu prayer circle.

One guest at the memorial, Amanda Tyacke said she didn't immediately recognize Bale until after they had prayed:

A couple next to me asked me to pray with them. There were about six or seven of us. And then prayer was over, and I was taking some pictures and realized who I was pretty much standing next to was Christian Bale.

Earlier, Bale had gone to the Medical Center of Aurora to show his gratitude to the medical staff who responded to the attack and to visit with the recovering victims. One of  them, Carey Rottman posted to his Facebook page a picture of Bale visiting him in his hospital room, along with a message expressing his gratitude.
