Some people enjoy ice cream from time to time, then there are people like my wife Lindsey and her grandpa Gelder who LOVED ICE CREAM!

I'm not kidding when I say this.

I don't know how my wife doesn't have diabetes, because she likes to have a scoop of ice cream whenever she can.

That might be because her grandpa Gelder used to have ice cream every single day of his life.

I remember hearing a story about how he went to visit family and the flight got delayed and they didn't get picked up at the airport until a little after midnight.

Can you guess what grandpa Gelder wanted as soon as he got off the airplane?

If you said a scoop of ice cream give yourself a big pat on the back.

As the story goes they ended up finding a gas station or grocery store that was still open and secured the precious pint of ice cream.

I tell you this because sadly my wife's grandpa Gelder passed away a few years ago but I guarantee you if he was still here with us he would have someone take the drive from Grand Rapids to check out what one Ann Arbor ice cream shop is serving up.
