A day on Lake Huron turned into a rescue mission for a couple of friends.

The two women were fine but ended up saving a raccoon that jumped into the water.

This crazy story started out with friends Maddy Gaukroger and Kylie Fekete.

The two were enjoying a day on the lake when a raccoon that was hiding on the boat became startled and decided to jump directly into the water and start swimming.

I don't blame the cute little guy for being scared, but jumping into the water was probably  not the best plan.

After swimming around for a short time the raccoon began to show signs that it was tired and couldn't keep swimming for much longer.

That's when the rescue mission got underway.

The two ladies turned the boat around and started making their way back toward the raccoon.

Once they got closer Kylie grabbed her paddleboard and started making her way over to the raccoon.

It took a little bit of trying but she was able to convince the raccoon to trust her and climb on board.

Thankfully everyone made it back safely to the shore and all three of them will have a story they'll never forget.
