If you live downtown, and don't have a car, this could be exactly what you're looking for.

WZZM-13 reports the city of Grand Rapids is in talks to team up with Enterprise to bring "rent by the hour" cars to downtown.

The way it works is pretty nifty. You sign up for an account with Enterprise, once you get signed up you get a card, which you swipe at the parked car. The car then unlocks and you take it to wherever you need to go. Depending on the type of car it could run you anywhere between $8 to $14 an hour.

The program is similar to what GVSU in Allendale is doing. They have two cars from Enterprise parked at the D lot. Students are able to rent by the hour, as described above.

Organizers hope to have this going by October.
