A man trying to recycle trash has the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan, upset even though they have jailed him twice for the dirty yard.

According to WOOD, Bill Peterson has designed his own trash hauling and recycling operation but the city of Grand Rapids wants it to away.

Peterson's business is called "Trailer Trash", and he specializes in hauling others trash off their property to then put on his to later recycle. Peterson said he, "sorts through it and finds things that can either be reused, re-purposed or recycled."

He advertises his business as “Trailer Trash,” hauling other people’s castoffs to his property. He said once the junk is in his yard, he “sorts through it and find things that can either be reused, re-purposed or recycled.”

Over decades Peterson says he's received several zoning violations and even went to jail twice but he's not giving in.

Peterson said, "instead of trying to educate the rest of the world about how bad all this waste is, I'm trying to do something about it."

The neighbors do not seem to have a problem with what Peterson is doing but the city seems to be the one with the issue.

Here is what the city spokesperson Steve Guitar said, "We have been listening to all opinions and concerns regarding this case and are looking at all options before moving forward. We are not able to provide additional comment at this time."
