From time to time, the Coast Guard periodically issues warnings about dangerous waves and rip currents in Lake Michigan that endanger boaters and swimmers

But earlier this week, they put out a warning that I've never heard of before.

It concerned four armed pyrotechnic flares that went missing in Lake Michigan. These flares could pose a threat to anyone who might come into contact with them

Thankfully, there is a positive update to this scary situation.

The USCG on Thursday night gave an update online, saying that the remaining flares that were missing have now been found.

The USCG did not disclose how or where they were found

I'm glad they found them, so we didn't have to spend the rest of the summer being afraid that one might wash up on the beach and possibly hurt someone.
