Steve's youngest daughter Izzy is crawling and his toddler Charlotte is going to her first birthday party this weekend.  So, this week's Daddy Tips address both of those milestones in their lives.

  1. Today’s first Daddy Tip is for parents of infants who just started crawling. Your baby will find the tiniest little things on the floor and will always want the things they aren’t allowed to have. So to make sure you aren’t just playing keep away from your little one, be sure to remove anything they shouldn’t have from your play area before putting them on the ground. They are quick little buggers so it’s better to be proactive rather than reactive.
  2. The next Daddy Tip this week is if you let your kids paint your nails, make sure you get them to paint them all. Charlotte and my wife decided that they were going to paint my toenails the other day, but they only had enough patience for one foot. That means that I have one foot with completely painted toenails and the other foot isn’t. Now I can’t wear sandals without looking silly. So, if you agree to let your kids paint your toenails, make sure they do them all.
  3. And the final Daddy Tip this week is all about going to birthday parties. Charlotte has been invited to her first birthday party this Sunday at a splash pad and she is super pumped. But, I do have a warning for parents of toddlers going to their first few birthday parties. Don’t let your toddler choose the gift for the birthday party. One of two things will happen. They will either pick a gift that makes zero sense. Or they will not understand the gift is for someone else and they will want it for themselves. So, don’t even bother taking your kid to buy the gift, just do it yourself and make it an afterthought for your little one.

And now it’s time for an awesome Dad Joke!

Did you know that cows produce more milk when the farmer talks to them?
It’s a case of in one ear and out the udder!
