David Spade Remembers Sister-In-Law Kate Spade in Emotional New Interview
David Spade remembered his late sister-in-law Kate Spade while visiting Good Morning America on Wednesday (July 18). When asked how his family's coping with her untimely and tragic death, the comedian said “as good as we can." “It’s been very tough, obviously,” he added. “She really made an impact.”
He went on to tell an anecdote about how any girl he was seeing would ask if "Katie" would be around before going out, and if she was they would completely change their outfit to make sure they impressed her. “I remember when we used to hang out. It’s funny ’cause every girl I was with or anyone that knew they would see Katie would dress differently,” Spade said. “They would bring their A-game. It was very sweet.”
As he continued, he noticeably began to choke up. He called her "such a beautiful, lovely, great spirit," and then said they needed to change the topic or else he'd “start bawling” on camera.

The interview wasn't the first time David paid tribute to Kate. When the iconic fashion designer passed away on June 5 from apparent suicide, he shared a sweet Instagram tribute the same day. Check out the moving post below.
